May is Women’s Health Month.
So this week at Delphine Dx, we bring attention to the fact that rates of maternal sepsis are rising.
Any woman who is pregnant, postpartum, or has miscarried can develop maternal sepsis. According to EndSepsis.org, those at greater risk include women younger than 20 years, Hispanic, Black and Asian women, and those who deliver via C-section.
Maternal sepsis is treatable, but early detection and treatment are key.
